| Resources for On-Site Visits |
 |
Most of the materials needed by NCATE Board of Examiners (BOE) team members, state team members, state consultants, and NEA and AFT representatives for on-site visits are available online and can be accessed below.
NCATE will mail these materials to team members one to two months before the visit. The unit will send team members the institutional Report and information about the visit.
Please review, print, and/or save the on-site visit material files you need to complete your work for your on-site visit. Any new or revised materials will be identified on the website. Hard copies of these materials will not be sent to team members.
The following materials are needed for all accreditation visits whether the visit is a first visit, continuing visit, probation visit, or focused visit: |

The Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviors of all NCATE board members, including BOE members, as they perform duties related to NCATE accreditation |

 |
 Distance Learning Questions (Updated May 2008) |

These questions should guide the team as it reviews evidence related to courses or programs that use the Internet or some form of telecommunication to deliver curricula and services. |

 |
 Expense Voucher |
| |
This form must be used to request reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the conduct of the on-site visit. Do NOT use older expense vouchers. |
 |
 Travel Reimbursement Policy as of July 2008 |
| |
The following policies shall apply to NCATE payment of approved travel expenses, whether for NCATE staff travel or for volunteers serving on governance boards, the Board of Examiners (“BOE”), committee members, contractors and sub-contractors, and participants in grant-funded meetings subject to additional policies of grantors including but not limited to federal government grants. |

NCATE/State Protocol Agreements |
| |
These protocols describe the expectations for state/NCATE visits in the state being visited. They indicate whether the institution must submit programs for national or state review, the type of visit (e.g., single joint team, concurrent teams, or NCATE-only teams), and other details about the visit. |

 Off-campus Questions (Updated May 2008) |

These question should guide the team as it reviews off-campus programs. |

Planning Instruments: |
| |
Team members should use this instrument to assess how well the unit is meeting the standards, based on their reading of the Institutional Report and review of other documents prior to the on-site visit. A team member’ previsit ratings will be shared in the first team meeting during the on-site visit. |

|
Substitute Teacher Pay: |
AFT and NEA will reimburse school districts for substitute pay while their member BOE members serve on NCATE teams. To apply for the reimbursement, BOE members must submit the following application to NCATE. |

| This summary includes the key components of the rubrics for each standard and identifies the expectations for Standard 2 as outlined in NCATE’s transition plan. It provides a quick overview of the unit standards and accompanying rubrics. |

Visit Template: |
| The visit template lays out the activities to be conducted by team members from the time the team arrives on campus until they depart. The team chair and institutional representatives use the template during the previsit to plan the visit.
